Privacy Policy
Overview
Ruhe collects no personal data and uses no tracking or analytics. Only in one place does anything leave your device: purchases and subscriptions are verified through a service provider (RevenueCat). Nothing that names you is transmitted – no name, no email address, no advertising identifier. The section “Purchases and subscriptions” sets out exactly what arrives there.
There is no advertising, no tracking across apps and no sharing with data brokers.
Microphone
Ruhe uses the microphone only to determine the current volume in the room. The audio signal is briefly turned into a single volume value in memory and discarded immediately.
No recordings are made, no conversations are analysed and no audio is stored or transmitted. You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Face ID
If you lock the controls, you can unlock them with Face ID or your device passcode. iOS performs the check – Ruhe only learns whether unlocking succeeded and has no access to biometric data.
Purchases and subscriptions (RevenueCat)
Payment is handled entirely by Apple and the App Store; crabucate has no access to your payment details. So the app can tell whether a purchase is valid and whether a subscription is still running, it uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., 300 Delaware Ave, Suite 210 #4453, Wilmington, DE 19801, USA). RevenueCat checks the receipt against Apple and tells the app whether “Ruhe Pro” is unlocked.
The following is processed:
- a randomly generated identifier that the app creates on first launch and that is linked to nothing about you (anonymous app user ID)
- the receipt from Apple, with the product, the time of purchase, the transaction identifier, the storefront country and the status of a subscription
- device and system details such as device model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone
- the IP address of the request, which RevenueCat uses to determine the country and to prevent abuse
No tracking, no advertising. RevenueCat receives no advertising identifier (IDFA), nothing is joined across devices, and none of it goes to advertising networks. Microphone data is never transmitted.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: without this check a purchase could not be delivered and a subscription could not be unlocked.
Transfer to the USA: RevenueCat processes this data in the United States. A data processing agreement is in place that incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Further detail is in RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Retention: purchase history is kept for as long as it is needed to unlock what you bought. If you delete the app, the anonymous identifier remains behind without a device; it cannot be attributed to a person.
What is stored on the device
Ruhe stores only your settings locally on your device (e.g. sensitivity, timer length, end sound) plus a counter of how often a lesson ended successfully, so the app asks for a rating only rarely.
Collected flames and timer states are not stored permanently. No names or other data about students are collected.
Ratings
Occasionally Ruhe shows the iOS rating prompt. Whether and how you rate is handled entirely by Apple. Apple’s privacy policy applies.
Third parties
Apart from RevenueCat for verifying purchases, the app includes no third-party SDKs, ad networks or analytics services. There is no tracking.
Children
Ruhe is a tool for teachers. Even when children see the screen or speak near the device, no data about them is collected – the microphone only gives the app a volume value.
Device storage and backups
Depending on your device settings, the locally stored settings may be part of an iCloud or Finder backup. Apple then processes that backup according to its privacy policy.
Your rights
Since crabucate neither collects nor stores user data, we cannot provide information about stored data or delete it – that data lives only on your device. You can delete all app data completely by uninstalling the app.
Changes
If anything fundamental changes that affects this policy, we will update it. The date above shows when it was last changed.
