A friendly noise light for the classroom: quiet work earns flames – noise is never punished.
Coming soon to the App Store
Features
Green, yellow, red – a cheerful face shows how loud the room is. On yellow it gently says “shh”, on red it covers its ears.
While it stays quiet, one flame after another lights up. Twelve flames complete the ring, and that gets celebrated. If it gets too loud, the flames go out.
The ring around the mascot shows the time left. Start and stop right next to the time; when it ends, measuring pauses.
On a projector or second display the noise light appears full screen – the controls stay on your iPad.
Set when yellow and red begin with two sliders – or let Ruhe listen for 5 seconds and calibrate itself.
Locked with Face ID or passcode, so nobody in class changes anything.
How it works
Open Ruhe and tap the face – measuring starts.
The mascot shows the class how loud it is and collects flames for every quiet stretch.
At the end of the lesson, what counts is what went well: the ring of flames.
Help & Support
Ruhe needs microphone access. Allow it in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Microphone → Ruhe.
Tap the slider icon in the toolbar and move the yellow and red thresholds – or use “Set Automatically” while the class works normally.
Connect your iPad to the projector by cable or AirPlay. Ruhe automatically shows the noise light full screen there and keeps the controls on the iPad.
Tap the flame counter at the top left. You can adjust the flames there or reset them to 0. If Ruhe was in the background for more than 10 minutes, the next lesson starts at 0 anyway.
No. Ruhe only measures the volume – nothing is recorded, stored or sent. Details are in the privacy policy.

Quiet that feels good.
